Our knowledge about honey bee nutrition and the importance of nutritional and management aspects in beekeeping concerning colonies survival and production is often underestimated. Honeybee colonies require essential ingredients for their development and production. Studies on honey bee nutrition are very few and one of the aims of our Coloss Network is also to boost research in honey bee nutrition within the bee science to help beekeepers to establish a colony nutritional status and to increase colonies survival. These are the reasons and opportunity for researchers of the Coloss project and of the forthcoming Workshop to update our knowledge and to increase the interest in collaborative studying this very important topic.
